Silvestr jsme strávili s přáteli v restauraci Chalet de la Croix na hoře Saleve.

Fete de l´Escalade

I letos se nám naskytla výjimečná příležitost oslavit v Geneva Welcome Centre nejdůležitější ženevskou historickou událost L´Escalade (podrobnosti viz. loňský záznam). Vešli jsme slavnostním vchodem, vyslechli si projevy ženevských představitelů a krátkou přednášku, jak se to vlastně celé událo, podívali jsme se na rozbití velkého čokoládového hrnce a společně jsme si vychutnali pravé sýrové fondue. Vláďa se zase předvedl jako šikula, protože nám ten sýr s bílým vínem výborně umíchal.

This year as well, we had an unique opportunity to celebrate the most important historical event of Geneva - L´Escalade - at the Geneva Welcome Centre (see the last year note for details). We entered the main entrance, listened to the speeches of the Genevian representatives and explanation of the historical happening. We had a look at a breakage of the big chocolate kettle and together we enjoyed the real cheese fondue. Vlada proved handy again while mixing the cheese and white wine.

Trh vína a gastronomie Gex / Wine and gastronomic Market in Gex

Po velkém loňském úspěchu, mňam, jsem Vláďu vytáhla na 13. ročník trhu vína a gastronomie v městečku Gex ve Francii. Nezklamalo nás to, odjeli jsme s plným břichem i taškama plnýma specialit a laskomin z regionů Francie, Itálie i Švýcarska.

After a big succes last year, yammi, I took Vlada to 13th wine and gastronomic market in a small town Gex in France. We weren´t dissapointed at all, we left the market with full stomach and bags with specialities from France, Italy and Switzerland.

Lausanne

Společně se Sonjou a Domenicem jsme se zúčastnili hromadného výletu do města Lausanne. Lausanne leží na břehu ženevského jezera a kromě nádherné katedrály a vyzdobené radnice se tam nachází Olympijské muzeum. To navštívíme někdy příště.

We joined guided trip to Lausanne with Sonja and Domenico. Town Lausanne is placed on the Lake Leman shore. It has a beautiful cathedral and flowerly decorated Municipality House. We will visit the Olympic museum next time.

Recepce ke st. svátku ČR / Czech National Day Reception

Recepce ke státnímu svátku ČR je asi největší a nejvýznamnější akcí Stálé mise. Letos jsme měli recepci pro diplomatický sbor v poledne a druhou recepci pro krajany večer. Na fotkách vidíte vchod rezidence velvyslance, nás s Vláďou při posledních přípravách, pana kuchaře, nejdůležitější osoby mise připravené na vítání hostů (zleva: vedoucí WTO úseku - můj bývalý šéf, vedoucí politického úseku, paní velvyslancová, pan velvyslanec - můj současný šéf), průběh recepce.

The National Day Reception is probably the biggest and the most important event of the Permanent Mission. This year we organized one reception for diplomatic corps at noon and the other one for Czech people living in Switzerland in the evening. In the pictures, you can see an entrance of the ambassador´s residence, me and Vlada during last preparations, our Mr. Cook, the most important people of the Mission ready to welcome our guests (from the left: Deputy Representative for WTO - my former boss, Deputy Representative for Political Section, Ambassador´s wife, Ambassador - my boss), running reception.

Svatba Terezka a Peťa / Terezka´s and Peta´s Wedding

Dneska se vdávala Vláďova sestra Terezka za Peťu. Nevěsta byla krásná, ženichovi to taky slušelo. Ať jsou spolu šťastní!

Today Vlada´s sister Terezka got married to Peťa. She was a very beautiful bride and the groom looked handsome, too. Congratulations!

Malý piknik v parku s Martinou a Petrou Škopovou / Small picnic at our park with Martina and Petra Skopova

Venku je krásně, tak proč lenošit doma, když si můžeme lebedit v parku? O trochu vzrůša se postaral Vláďa, který trénoval se svým letadýlkem.
Dopadlo to dobře:-)

There is warm and sunny outside, why relax at home when we can do the same and even more pleasantely in our park? Vlada brought us some excitement when practising with his small plane. We finished with a happyend:-)

Recepce SRN, Croisier / German Reception, Croisier

Večer jsme byli pozvaní na recepci ke státnímu svátku SRN, kterou pořádal německý velvyslanec s manželkou na své rezidenci v Croisier. Byl to takový malý hrad:-) Všechno bylo nachystáno ve velkém stylu, byla tam spousta hostů. Škoda, že ten den tolik pršelo. Na první fotce jsme při vstupu do rezidence, kdy vítá hostitel a jeho zástupci, na další zleva: Martina, její známý, Anna a já.

In the evening we were invited to a reception on the occasion of the national day of Germany, which was given by German ambassador and his wife at their residence at Croisier. It was a small castle:-) Everything was prepared in a grand style, there was a lot of quests. A pity that it was raining that day. At the first picture, we are entering the residence and are welcomed by the ambassador and his wife and his deputy. At the second one, from the left: Martina, her friend, Anna and myself.

Shánění krav St.Cergue a Nyon

Poprvé jsme se byli podívat na shánění krav z letních horských pastvin. Slavnost se konala ve vesnici Saint Cergue u Nyonu. Ze Ženevy jsme jeli vlakem a pak kousek autobusem. Už byl mrazivý den, ale stálo to za to. Muzikanti hráli na alpské rohy, podél ulice byly stánky s typickými výrobky a nejdůležitější byl průvod nazdobených krav, bernardýnů, horských mužů... Mělo to jedinou nevýhodu. Krávy běžely po silnici a po nich jsme šlapali my všichni v zelených vodnatých h.....
Pak jsme jeli vláčkem motoráčkem do města Nyon na oběd v zámecké sklepní restauraci, prohlídli jsme si zámek, kde byla zrovna výstava porcelánu a prošli se po městě. Pak jsme se vrátili rychlolodí do Ženevy.
Krásný den.

For the first time, we saw a celebration of a cow "desalpage", when the cows are taken back from their summer alp pastures. It was held in a village Saint Cergue close to Nyon. We took a train from Geneva and then travelled by bus for a while. It was a chilly morning but it was worth it. Musicians played their alp horns, there were stands with handcraft along the street and the most important was parade with decorated cows, St.Bernards dogs, mountain men... It had only one flaw: after the cow parade on the road we were the ones stepping into their green liquide sh..
Later we went by old small train to Nyon for lunch at the castle cellar restaurant, then we visited the castle with its temporary porcelain exhibition and we walked through the town. We went back into Geneva by a speed-boat.
Beautiful day.

Nedělní palačinky u Petry Škopové

Jak by se vám líbilo v neděli pozdě dopoledne vstát a zajít si ke kamarádce na palačinky? Tak přesně tak to bylo tuto neděli. Kamarádka a kolegyně Petra nás pozvala k sobě domů, do bytu s nádherným výhledem na celou Ženevu, dodatečně jsme oslavili narozeniny Martiny (na fotce).

How would you like to wake up on Sunday morning and visit a friend for a late pancake breakfast? And just like this it was this Sunday. Our friend and colleague Petra has invited us to her place, a small flat with a wonderful view over the whole town. Additionally, we celebrated Martina´s birthday (on the picture).

Miss Earth Lausanne

Martina získala pro všechny lístky na volbu Miss Earth, která se konala v Lausanne, tak jsme se tam vypravili. Byl to přímý přenos, myslím, že v televizi to vypadalo mnohem lépe, než ve skutečnosti, kdy byl poloprázdný sál a během natáčení se stalo několik faux-pas. Tak jsme se aspoň ve skupině vsadili, která slečna to asi vyhraje. Představte si, že jsem vyhrála 6 franků:-)
Z večera si hlavně pomatuju sexy zpěváka, co se doprovázel vsedě na barové židli na kytaru, a zpěvačku s velice příjemným hlasem. Příležitostně zjistím jména.

Martina got free tickets to Miss Earth for all of us. The voting was held in Lausanne, so we went for a small trip. It was live transmission and I think that it looked much better on TV screen than in reality. There were several faux-pas during the programme and we were sitting in the half-empty hall. At least, we made a bet which girl will win and guess what - I wan 6 francs:-)
I remember one sexy singer with a guitare sitting on the bar stool and one female singer with very nice voice. I will try to find out their names.

Vinobraní Russin / Wine-harvest in Russin

O víkendu jsme se byli podívat na vinobraní kousek od Ženevy ve vesničce Russin. Zaparkovali jsme na poli, procházkou jsme se dostali do centra vesnice, kde byly otevřeny všechny vinné sklípky, na ulici se prodávaly místní speciality (raclette, tartiflette, klobásy...), vyhrávala tam muzika, prostě paráda. Zdrželi jsme se až do pozdních hodin, Vláďa ještě stačil vystřelit Martině fialovou krávu:-), dali jsme si cukrovou vatu a vybrali se domů.

During this weekend, we visited a small village called Russin situated close to Geneva. Wine-harvest celebrations were held there. We parked in the field, by walk we got to the center of the village, where all the crowd was. All the wine cellers were open, you could get regional specialities like raclette, tartiflette or sausages on the street, the live music was played there, just perfect atmosphere. We stayed there until late evening, Vlada got a velvet violet cow by shooting for Martina:-), we took cotton-candy and took home direction.

Rozlučka s Janou a p.Novákem / Farewell party of Jana and Mr. Novak

Dneska jsme se v práci rozloučili s naší milou kolegyní Janou a panem Novákem. Nejdřív jim oběma pan velvyslanec poděkoval za spolupráci, pak jsme jim popřáli hodně štěstí v Praze, předal se dárek a pak už jsme se jen smutně veselili.

Today we said a good-bye to our nice colleague Jana and Mr. Novak. At first, Ambassador thanked them for their cooperation, then we wished them good luck in Prague, we passed over the presents and then it was a time to "celebrate" a little bit.

Placky u Pepy / Potatoe Pancakes at Pepa´s

Jedním z hlavních bodů našeho letního pobytu v ČR bylo pečení bramborových placků u strejdy Pepy. Počasí si s náma hrálo, ale nakonec to dopadlo dobře a všem moc chutnalo. A hlavně jsme se viděli a oslavili i pár narozenin. Pár rodinných drbů, které už všichni vědí: Teta Věrka se odbarvila na světlo. Její přítel Laďa je po operaci kolene, ale stále je vtipný. Tajnůstkářský bratranec David představil svoji přítelkyni Andreu. Mají doma od Pepy nové kotě. Optimistické tetě Zdence sluší všechno. Petra bude ve svém novém bytě bydlet se Zuzkou. Vláďa se ukázal jako dobrý smažič a už mu to asi zůstane. Tomáš je hned v závěsu. Strejda Pepa už je smažič expert. Teta Marta měla nejlepší klobouk. Strejdovi Vilovi je to jedno. Galuszkovi ml. už mají dospělé děti. Fernet i slivovice pořád všem chutná:-)
