Navštívili jsme prestižní dílnu na výrobu hodinek a šperků Roger Dubuis. Byla založena roku 1995, nyní sídlí v nové budově a je vybavena nejnovější technologií. Jednotlivé díly jsou vyráběny ve strojích, ale poté jsou ručně dopracovávány a zdobeny. Nejvíc mne zaujal model Excalibur (na fotce): je vybaven mechanickým strojkem se dvěma "kotouči" pracujícími v prochůdném směru a "skákající" ručičkou, která se po oběhnutí číselníkového půlkruhu vrací vlevo. Ceny se pohybují od 15 tis. franků výše, cena zakázkových kusů je kolem 300 tisíc franků.
We visited the Roger Dubuis manufacture, a prestigious Geneva watchmaker and jeweller. The manufacture has been founded in 1995, is placed in a new building now and is very modern. They do all the details by hand though. Note the interesting Excalibur watch on the picture: it is equipped with a mechanical hand-wound movement with two tourbillons working in opposite rotational directions. They are also equipped with a differential calculating the average of the two tourbillons in displaying the time. This device is intended to compensate for the difference to which a tourbillon might be subject at its point of attachment. The upper part of the dial displays the dragging and retrograde minutes, along with the jumping-hour hand. The sapphire crystal case-back subtly reveals the power reserve. The price goes from 15 000 swiss francs, the custom made watches can cost about 300 000 francs.
